SOULERA / HOW IT WORKS

From a handwriting sample to a better conversation.

A clear, human-centred process for turning handwriting-based reflection into useful questions, shared understanding and practical next steps.

Follow the journey

Designed for thoughtful development, hiring and leadership conversations.

HANDWRITING SAMPLE

Natural, connected writing

REFLECTION READY

Questions, not conclusions. Prepared for conversation

ONE CONNECTED JOURNEY

Context stays with the person
  1. Invite
  2. Write
  3. Understand
  4. Talk

BEGIN WITH THE QUESTION

Start with purpose, not a form.

THE STARTING PRINCIPLE

Before anyone writes, be clear about the conversation you want to support. That purpose shapes the invitation, the context brought into the review and the next step that follows.

CONVERSATION BEFORE INTERPRETATION

The question shapes everything that follows.

Purpose travels from the invitation into the review—and keeps the next step grounded in the person’s real work.

  1. DEVELOPMENT

What could help this person grow in their current work?

    Growth and coaching
  2. HIRING

What job-relevant questions should the interview explore more deeply?

    Evidence for the interview
  3. LEADERSHIP

What could support the next responsibility or development focus?

    Direction for what comes next

THE SOULERA JOURNEY

One flow. Four thoughtful moments.

Each moment prepares the next, keeping the person and the purpose visible from invitation through follow-up.

FROM PURPOSE TO FOLLOW-UP

Purpose stays visible throughout
  1. A CLEAR INVITATION

    Set the context.

Explain why the reflection is being offered, who will see it and how it will support the conversation ahead.

  2. A NATURAL SAMPLE

    Write as you normally would.

The participant prepares a readable handwriting sample in their usual style, without trying to make it look different.

  3. A CONSIDERED REPORT

    Read with context.

Review the interpretation alongside the person’s role, real work examples and their own point of view.

  4. A HUMAN CONVERSATION

    Turn reflection into action.

Discuss what feels useful, choose a practical next step and return to it in the flow of everyday work.

WHAT CARRIES THROUGH

Context, the person’s voice and a practical next step.

WRITING GUIDANCE

A natural sample makes a considered start.

The aim is not perfect handwriting. It is a clear, comfortable sample that reflects how the participant normally writes.

Write naturally.Let the sample sound like you.
  • A comfortable setup

Use a comfortable pen and a clean sheet of paper.

  • Your everyday language

Write naturally in a language you use with ease.

  • Connected writing

Share enough connected writing for a readable sample.

  • Clear, even light

Upload the full page in clear, even light.

READ THE REPORT IN CONTEXT

The report opens the conversation. It does not close it.

Use the interpretation as a set of themes to explore. Compare it with what the role asks, what has happened in real work and what the person recognises in their own experience.

THE USEFUL QUESTION“What does this help us talk about?”

REPORT REVIEW

Bring context into view

A reflection to explore

How does this person prefer to approach new work?

ROLE CONTEXTWhat the work asks
REPORT THEMESWhat to explore
THE PERSONWhat they recognise

THE CONVERSATION

Listen for what the person sees.

A useful review leaves room to agree, question and add context. The goal is shared understanding and a practical next step.

TRY ASKING

RESPONSIBLE USE

Keep the judgement human.

Keep the person’s perspective, real work and the limits of the interpretation in view.

  • Explain the purpose.

Participants should understand why the reflection is being offered and how it will be used.

  • Bring wider evidence.

Assess job-related skills with structured interviews and work samples. Use report themes only as optional questions to discuss with the participant.

  • Respect the boundary.

Handwriting-based interpretations are not validated measures of job performance or suitability.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A little context
before you begin.

What to know about participation, review and choosing the right workflow.

What is graphology, and what can a report tell us?

Graphology interprets handwriting features to suggest themes for discussion. It is not a validated predictor of job performance or a clinical assessment. The report can introduce a question to explore with the person; it cannot establish ability or job suitability.

Who prepares the handwriting sample?

The participant writes and submits their own sample after the purpose, access and intended use have been explained.

What should we bring to the review?

Bring the relevant role context, recent work examples and the question you want the conversation to explore. The participant’s perspective remains central.

Can SoulEra make an employment decision?

No. Handwriting-based interpretations are reflective inputs, not validated measures of job performance or suitability. Employment decisions should rely on job-relevant evidence and validated methods.

How do we choose the right workflow?

Start with the conversation you need to have. Employee Insights supports development, Hiring supports interview preparation and Leadership supports leadership decisions and growth.
